Theory behind

The basis of our Creative Health project is health literacy. It is health professionals’ skills to communicate health information and people’s skills to use health information for health promotion. Interactive communication between the two is the key. This program links young health professionals and children in the community.

Tools

The Creative Health consists of three core workshops. We also create other interactive teaching tools, including card games.

Outcomes

We have observed that the children’s views of their health and the place they live become more positive after participating in the workshops. They appreciated presenting, measuring, learning connections between the topics they learned, and working collaboratively with peers. Very importantly, teachers recognized children’s creativity and the importance of reflecting on their opinions in community development.

We observed similar outcomes in Japan and Indonesia.
