July 29th
First day of Dr. Safina’s one-week visit to Fukushima kicked off with an engaging meeting in the bustling FMU hospital lobby at 8:30 AM. Professor Yasumura set the tone with an intriguing introduction to the Fukushima Health Management Survey (FHMS). Following this enlightening session, Professor Nollet led a thought-provoking discussion on Creative Health (CH) activities, which was followed by an exciting campus tour. Dr. Safina then had the opportunity to explore the FHMS data storage facilities and soak in more knowledge during the campus tour guided by Dr. Kobashi and Professor Nollet. The day wrapped up with a stimulating meeting with Professor Yamashita to explore international networking opportunities.
July 31st
On this day, the schedule was packed with exciting activities centered around a visit to Koriyama Women's University. Participants engaged in a fruitful meeting with Dr. Okabe and Mr. Yamawaki to delve into the Community Health Food Workshop. Mr. Yamawaki also delivered a captivating presentation focusing on caring for children with special needs. The day was further enriched with a tour of the picturesque Koriyama Women's University campus.
August 1st
Dr. Safina visited the Emergency Department of FMU, including the Nuclear Emergency
Department, under the guidance of Dr. Sekine.
August 2nd
Dr. Safina visited Dr. Kawai and Ms. Kawai’s (Midwife) Fukushima Komorebi Clinic.
Nurses toured him the facility and he shadowed Dr. Kwai. Dr. Safina then had an
engaging discussion with Ms. Kawai about postpartum care.
